3:16 Devotion April 13, 2020

Dear God,

We are thankful for so much, and you know this. We are thankful you created such a dazzling and fantastic world; you really have.  Everything we say and do is because of you. Thank you for our families, our pets and thank you for protecting them and healing them. God thank you for me. Thank you for creating me and keeping me safe.  Thank you for our friends and their families.  Please continue to heal them.  Thank you for the care takers and teachers, nurses and doctors, firefighters and policemen, mailmen and trash removal, and all the other essential workers helping during this global pandemic. Thank you for our church and a special thanks to Pastor Craig and Mrs. Marla for spreading God’s word, please take care of their family, Lord.

All of this reminds me of the story my mother and grandmother told me about being thankful for the fleas.

Thank you, Heavenly Father for Corrie ten Boom and her sister Betsie, and the prayer they would recite ~ ‘Comfort the frightened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all. Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus …'” (1 Thessalonians 5:14-18). ~

I am grateful for their story that reminds us of how we must remain thankful during hard times. We don’t like this, but we need to be thankful for the time we have together and how it could bring others closer to you. Maybe some that were sick with the virus, and weren’t believers, will become Christians and continue to spread your Holy Word.

Thank you for the good and bad, I hope we learn from our mistakes. Thank you for the earth, for the ground, sand, and water, for the sky and the trees. Thank you for the ponds and the lakes, the rivers and the oceans, and the park and meadows. Thank you for nature, Lord, we are truly blessed! Thank you for outer space.  Thank you for sun and the moon, the planets beyond the earth and the space beyond our knowing.  Thank you for all of it.  We really do appreciate all you do for us.

Thank you for Adam and Eve, for Noah and the Ark.  Thank you for everyone in the Bible, your Holy Book. Thank you for making the Bible. Thank you for our churches (especially my favorite church home, Genesis) and plays and Spiritual Twist Productions and how they both give children the opportunity to act and participate in Christian based plays so they can worship together while delivering your word through exciting outlets like acting and singing. Thank you for your disciples, I promise to be your disciple.   Thank you for the Saints and the nuns. Thank you for Christians and the Holy Trinity.

Thank you for the essentials like clothes, shoes, transportation and our homes. We are also thankful for the other meaningful things like books, libraries, museums and toys (for kids and adults). Thank you for the radio stations like KLove and HISradio, etc.

Thank you for religion and for the Republicans and the Democrats.  We pray for peace!

Thank you, God for this whole wide world and beyond.  Thank you for Heaven! Thank you for you, GOD and for JESUS. I am thankful for it all! We pray for you too, God.  You do so much for all of us, we pray that we make you happy because we are all so blessed by your favor.  May you be pleased with our gratefulness.

Dear Heavenly Father may we remember to give thanks in all things. We know you are in charge and we need to put ALL of our trust in you Lord. Amen

Love, Grace Kimble
