Count Your Blessings
Tuesday morning, April 14, as I was pondering what I needed to do for the day, this old hymn popped in my head.
Count your blessings name them one by one,
Count your blessings see what God has done,
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your many blessings see what God has done.
My usual Tuesday morning is spent readying the choir room for choir rehearsal on Tuesday night. So I was thinking, “My schedule is so disoriented I cannot even …..” I was just so full of negative thoughts. I know God sent me this song that I have sung 100 million times as a child in our little country church to remind me of His faithfulness and blessings that are perfect and right on time. In those younger years of life, I got so tired of hearing some of the old hymns, but the longer I live the more I understand why they are in my memory bank.
That simple reminder was all I needed to snap me out of this social distancing negativity and bring me to say “thank you, thank you dear God for every gift.” You are on time and you never change.
