As we see our Coffee fellowship growing and being enjoyed, it is our desire to offer our congregation and visitors the best coffee we can afford.
Genesis has decided to partner with Equal Exchange to be our coffee supplier. Equal Exchange is an organization that was born 30 years ago, and many churches have partnered with them. Their mission is “… is to build long-term trade partnerships that are economically just and environmentally sound, to foster mutually beneficial relationships between farmers and consumers and to demonstrate, through our success, the contribution of workers cooperatives and Fair Trade to a more equitable, democratic and sustainable world.”
Their coffee is organic, environmental sustainable, and fair to farmers in different parts of the world. It’s a way to live our church mission in loving God’s creation, and loving our coffee-producers neighbors.
In the following weeks will be serving a Breakfast Blend, a classic blend with hints of chocolate brownies, roasted nuts and caramel. We’ll test a Colombian coffee with aroma of maple, honey, and citrus; with a complex flavor that includes grapefruit, dried figs, and bananas. Or you may enjoy a Cozy Cup Decaf that has an aroma of vanilla and malt, with a flavor of honey and caramel.
Give us for feedback on your favorite, and you may consider making a love offering to support this mission.
