The Genesis Ark – April 2023

March 28, 2023There are many opportunities at Genesis over the coming weeks. Get Involved! God So Loved Cantata by Pepper Choplin Genesis Choir is pleased to participate with other area churches in the premier of Pepper Choplin’s new Easter Cantata “God So Loved”. 200+ voices will join together with a full orchestra at the Meymandi Conert Hall in Raleigh on Sunday, April 2nd @ 7 pm. Holy Week @ Genesis

Palm Sunday April 2, 2023 9:00 and 11:10 a.m. Celebrate Jesus Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem on this first day of Holy Week. Lenten 40 items for 40 days Participate in the 40 for 40 Food Drive each year during Lent. Our Lenten challenge is for each family to donate 40 items over the 40 days of Lent. Donations should be dropped off at Dorcas Food Pantry, 193 High House Road. Local Missions Regional Missions The Carying Place Genesis partners with The Carying Place.  This organization serves the needy in our area by helping them transition from homelessness to independent living. 40 Days of Lent, 40 Items to Donate

This Lenten Season, we have an opportunity to come together as a church family to serve our neighbors. Many in our community are struggling to make ends meet. Dorcas Ministries Food Pantry needs our donations. The Mission team is challenging each of us to donate 40 food items to the pantry between now and Easter Sunday.  How can our family help?  What should we purchase? Where do we drop off the food?  Prayerfully consider participating in this Lenten mission challenge.…

Our Lenten season of reflection and repentance begins Ash Wednesday, February 22. Worship will be held at 7 pm. The imposition of ashes will take place. This sign of mortality and repentance has a long history in Jewish and Christian worship. You may have heard the saying “Sunday’s palms are Wednesdays ashes”. Equipping Disciples Course Begins

During the month of February, all members of Genesis will meet each week at 10:00 a.m. for a 4 week Equipping Disciples study “Why Christianity”. We will dive into the Bible to strengthen our faith and learn how we can each bless the world around us through God’s word. Genesis ministry staff and Andrew Hodges developed the new Equipping Disciples program.
