Book Group – March

40 Days of Lent, 40 Items to Donate

This Lenten Season, we have an opportunity to come together as a church family to serve our neighbors. Many in our community are struggling to make ends meet. Dorcas Ministries Food Pantry needs our donations. The Mission team is challenging each of us to donate 40 food items to the pantry between now and Easter Sunday.  How can our family help?  What should we purchase? Our Lenten season of reflection and repentance begins Ash Wednesday, February 22. Worship will be held at 7 pm. The imposition of ashes will take place. This sign of mortality and repentance has a long history in Jewish and Christian worship. You may have heard the saying “Sunday’s palms are Wednesdays ashes”. It is traditional to save the palm branches from the previous Passion/Palm Sunday service and burn them ahead of time to produce the ashes for this service. Genesis…

Equipping Disciples Course Begins

During the month of February, all members of Genesis will meet each week at 10:00 a.m. for a 4 week Equipping Disciples study “Why Christianity”. We will dive into the Bible to strengthen our faith and learn how we can each bless the world around us through God’s word. Genesis ministry staff and Andrew Hodges developed the new Equipping Disciples program. Graceful Yoga – a Spiritual Experience

What a wonderful day at our first class of “Graceful Yoga” at Genesis! It was good to take a moment to breathe in God’s goodness and appreciate the beautiful body he gave each of us.
