The Advent season is here. It is such a pleasure to watch the church transform into a Calm and Bright space to worship and celebrate the birth of our Lord and King Jesus Christ. Every day another decoration is added. The coming of our Lord is near!
The Choir and instrumentalists are preparing the Christmas Cantata. Children and Youth have been caroling at Chatham Commons. Ladies have celebrated their Christmas Brunch. Preschool children are practicing their Christmas music program. The Angel Tree is up. PopUp Caring will deliver stockings to the firefighters. The Giant Magi Puppets have been assembled and are receiving their final coat of paint for the celebration of Epiphany on January 6. The Poinsettias have arrived.
Silent night, holy night. All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child. Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace. Sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, holy night! Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar. Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Saviour is born. Christ, the Saviour is born.
Silent night, holy night. Son of God, love’s pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face. With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth. Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.
