Keeping Christmas Well

Traditionally, the church has observed Christmas not as single day, but as the twelve-day season of Christmas. It begins at midnight on Christmas Day and continues until January 5, the eve of Epiphany. 2019 Methodist Build

Genesis Build Day – Saturday November 23! Seeking at least 10 Genesis Members & Friends. Genesis has joined with  Habitat for Humanity Wake County, other UMC’s and two other coalitions to build affordable townhomes in southeast Raleigh. This year’s build is called the Trinity Build. Angel Tree

Our Angel Tree Collection is November 16 – December 8. We are sponsoring 20 children through Western Wake Health and Family Services. Come to God’s Light Cafe at Genesis. Choose an angel and bless a child.

Seeking Sewers

Collect and sew hats for Duke cancer patients. Hats are cut out and waiting for you with sewing instructions in the cupboard in room 212. Thank you for blessing these cancer patients.   Watch for our hat cutting events, held multiple times a year. Duke Cancer patients are very grateful for the hats, which are given free of charge. PICO – Partners in Christ Outreach

PICO stands for Partners in Christ Outreach.  David Gardener organized PICO to support the Cary Community through home repairs and yardwork for people in our community who cannot afford to pay for this work. Requests come from Dorcas ministries, the Carying Place and Meals on Wheels recipients as well as the church family.  Dave welcomes those who would like to assist in this ministry to our community. 2019 Methodist Build

If you were in church on September 8th, you heard our guest  preacher, Alta Whitt, ask a simple but convicting question – “what are you holding in your hand?” This was in reference to . God had told Moses he would lead the Hebrew people out of Egypt. Fall Disaster Recovery Trip

Information Meeting October 6 @ 4 PM This fall’s disaster recovery mission trip will be held Sunday, October 27th through Friday, November 1st.  We will return to Washington, NC to assist in the recovery from Hurricanes that have impacted Eastern North    Carolina in the past few years. We will work out of the Hannah Cub Scout camp – now called the Washington Center of the United Methodist Church. This is the same camp we have worked out of the last 5 years.…

Kingswood Feeding Friends

Genesis partners with Kingswood Elementary school, a downtown Cary STEM magnet school as our Congregations for Children (C4C) initiative. Every Friday that school is in session, at 9:30 AM you will find Genesis members packing produce for kids in need. We pack produce that is in season for over 30 families in the free and reduced lunch program. We are always seeking people to help.
