Calling all able bodied person’s to participate in this fall’s disaster recovery mission trip! Why participate? To lift God’s name on high. Loving and serving others points them to Christ! Join us Sunday, October 25th through Friday, October 30th, as Genesis’ mission team travels to Washington, NC to assist in recovery from hurricanes that have impacted the area over several years. Dorcas Food Pantry

Volunteers Needed!  Genesis UMC volunteers work in the Dorcas Food Pantry on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays of each month, enabling the pantry to be open on Saturdays. Consider volunteering once or twice a month. You will work in the pantry with 2-3 others to sort food and greet shoppers. Shoppers do not enter the pantry. Hats for Duke / Port Pillows for Rex

Genesis’ Hats for Duke mission cuts and sews hats for Duke and port pillows for Rex hospitals for their patients undergoing Chemotherapy.  In March the representative for the Duke Hospital Cancer Patient Support Program said that, during the current pandemic, we could not deliver the hats we had ready. We were therefore inactive for two months – that is – all except for our wonderful senior home sewer Charline Emens,  who immediately requested a supply of materials and to date…

Project Agape

Genesis delivered 20 boxes to UMCOR in Goldsboro to be sent to Project Agape, a Methodist mission in Armenia.  These boxes will be distributed in the winter to children who are served by this mission partner as an extension of God’s love for them.  This year the United Methodist Conference asked for churches to send fewer boxes and to instead send a financial gift. This mission is underfunded due to a decline in donations.  Genesis UMC is sending a gift…

Dorcas Food Pantry anticipates an increase in families seeking food assistance in the coming weeks. TLC Grads Start COVID-19 Relief Projects

We are so thrilled to hear that TLC grads all over Honduras have started 19 Covid-19 relief projects! We’d like to share that encouragement. Genesis has played a big part in God’s work there! Carolina, LMI graduate from Cohort 9, shares about the COVID-19 Relief Project that she is leading in her community of Guimaca, San Francisco Morazon. Food Drive for Kingswood Elementary

Kingswood Feeding Friends is taking collections at Hustle Fitness Studio (158 E. CEDAR STREET CARY). They need the following: Canned: meat (tuna, chicken, chili), beans, vegetables, pasta sauce, fruit. Boxed: pasta, mac n’ cheese, oatmeal packets. Snacks: granola bars, pretzels, popcorn, raisins, crackers. Hopefully the stores still have some stuff left! Let me know if you have questions or need help donating! Samaritan Dinner
