Genesis Care Ministries offers opportunities for those who are growing as disciples of Christ to use their gifts to care for others, and for those who are going through life challenges to receive Christian care. One-on-one care, small groups and other resources are available.

Here are ways you can get involved:
- Prayer requests
- The Prayer ministry accepts prayer requests from members, friends and the community.
- Send in your requests so that your Genesis family may lift you up in prayer. God is our Great Physician and Comforter. Prayer requests may be sent to prayer@genesis-umc.org
- Join the prayer email and pray faithfully. To join the email distribution list, contact Kim Kligerman.
- The Prayer ministry accepts prayer requests from members, friends and the community.
- GenesisPrays
- Join in corporate prayer for our church and its ministries, our community, the nation, and the world. GenesisPrays meets twice a month in September – May, and once a month in June, July and August. We are currently meeting on ZOOM. For information, email GenesisPrays@genesis-umc.org.
- Breakthrough Prayer Initiative
- Pray with us our bi-monthly breakthrough prayer daily by adding the breakthrough prayer to your prayers each time you pray. Our next breakthrough prayer will be in November
- Monthly Prayer Calendar
- Pray daily focusing your heart and mind on one prayer topic each day.
Spiritual Gifts
Get to know your Spiritual Gifts so that you will better understand who God has made you to be. Serve with your gifts and in your passion, and in doing so, you will grow closer to God. Take a Spiritual Gifts class during Lent.
Congregational Care team
Encourage members and share the congregations love with those who are unable to attend church. Contact may include visits, phone calls and cards. If you would like to get involved in this ministry, contact Kim Kligerman.
Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministers care, listen, and share God’s love with those facing life crises. God does not intend for us to struggle alone. Stephen Ministers receive 50 hours of training and commit to serve the congregation for a minimum of 2 years. If you are interested in serving as a Stephen Minister at Genesis, email stephenministry@genesis-umc.org. A Stephen Leader will contact you.
If you or a friend need a caring Christian who will listen, empathize, pray, and provide confidential care through a crisis or difficult time, ask the individual if you can share their contact information and contact Lynn Mull or Kim Kligerman by email here: Stephen Leader.
New Journey
New Journey is a group for widowed persons to come together in fellowship and support of one another. We are on a new journey together. The group meets the second Wednesday of each month with a focus on fellowship. Contact Michelle Piccirillo, widowed@genesis-umc.org.
Make A Dish
Join the Make A Dish team and provide an occasional meal to a congregational family dealing with a life situation. Contact makeadish@genesis-umc.org.
Journeying through Grief book ministry
Journeying through Grief books are a simple, powerful way of caring for those who are grieving. A set of four short books are sent to people at four crucial times during the first year after the loss of a loved one. If you are interested in getting involved with this ministry, contact Kim Kligerman.
Card Ministry
This team sends cards to members and friends of the congregation to let them know we love them and are praying for them. Would you like to join this team? Contact Kim Kligerman.
