Current Study: “Consequences of Ideas” by R.C. Sproul

To understand the culture in which we live in, you need to be familiar with the ideas that have shaped it. In Ligonier’s survey series, The Consequences of Ideas, R.C. Sproul traces the contours of Western philosophy throughout history and shows how our culture evolved to what it is today.

From ancient Greek thinkers like Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle to Christian philosophers such as Augustine, Anselm and Aquinas to the shapers of modern thought such as Hume, Kant and Nietzsche, R.C. demonstrates the consequences of each of these and other important thinkers’ ideas on world events, theology, the fine arts and culture, as well as our everyday lives.

Listen, and you will hear echoes of their ideas in your daily conversations-especially as you witness to unbelievers. .

October 3- November 7God’s Unbreakable Promises, Jennie Allen, Lauren Chandler, and Jada Edwards, 6 sessions

“With the Bible at our fingertips, we have a story of God’s faithfulness right in front of us to show us one example after another of who God is. In this six-session study, we want to walk you through some of the promises and covenants God made with his people to understand more of the story of God and the big picture of his unfailing love for us.

Through this study, featuring teaching videos from Jennie Allen, Lauren Chandler, and Jada Edwards, you will discover:

  • The story of God throughout the Bible, and what it means for you now.
  • That God always keeps his word, even if we don’t.
  • That God never fails, even when his people do.

God always keeps his promises.”

November 14-December 5Living on Purpose by Rajiv Chelladurai, 4 sessions

Being intentional about our goals is a well-understood concept in the secular and corporate world. Generally, people who are more intentional about what they need to accomplish are more likely to get things done and be far more successful.

But is finding our life’s purpose just about getting through a checklist? Or is there something far greater at stake? What should we do to fulfill God’s agenda for us and how?

In this four-part series, author, business consultant, and coach Rajiv Chelladurai helps us answer these questions by examining “four Ps” of finding your purpose.”

September 16- November 8 The Acts of the Apostles” video series by Louie Giglio

“In a world that is unsure of where to find truth or purpose, the book of Acts stands apart. It reveals God’s plan for global redemption, his purpose for our lives, and the power he has given us to accomplish his mission.  Walk through the story of the early church. Acts may have been written two thousand years ago, but God is calling us to be a part of that story today.”

September 19- November 7: “Jesus In Me” by Anne Graham Lotz

In Jesus in Me: Experiencing the Holy Spirit as a Constant Companion, Anne Graham Lotz helps us understand that the Holy Spirit is not a magic genie, a flame of fire, a force, or a vague feeling. He is a Person who prays for us, guides us in our relationships and decisions, comforts us in pain, and stays by our side at all times. He is not an optional extra in the Christian life; He is a divine necessity. Discover how to better love and rely on the Person of the Holy Spirit—and embrace how much He loves you.

Full Name:

23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
forever. (ESV)
