Dorcas Ministries Update 3/26/2020

March 26, 2020

Friends:

I want to first thank you for the tremendous amount of support we have already seen from our community.  The top priority of  Dorcas Ministries is serving our clients and we would not be able to do that without you.

Our Client Services staff is working hard to ensure food is provided and crisis financial assistance is given to our neighbors in need. Residents of Cary and Morrisville are encouraged to apply online to request help.

We have already seen a significant increase – more than double – in demand for our food pantry and our shelves are running low.  If you can, we would encourage you to make a donation – either financial or food

Financial donations are essential right now and allow us an opportunity to purchase food at wholesale prices, which makes your donation go further.

We want to reassure you that the Dorcas Ministries staff is continuing to closely monitor the Coronavirus pandemic and how it impacts Dorcas Ministries and the Cary community.

For the health and safety of our staff, our donation drop off area will be closed effective today, Thursday, March 26th at 3 PM until further notice.  For now, we are not accepting community donations of goods, clothes, and other items for the Dorcas Thrift Shop.  We would love if you held on to those donations for when we re-open.

We will continue to accept food donations at the Food Pantry Receiving Door (in the front of the building) Monday – Saturday  9 AM – 3 PM.

Staff will continue to monitor recommendations by local and federal sources. Please refer to our website for the most up-to-date information.

We are praying for all impacted by the pandemic.

Blessings,

Howard Manning
