Equipping Disciples Course Begins

Equipping Disciples Course Begins

During the month of February, all members of Genesis will meet each week at 10:00 a.m. for a 4 week Equipping Disciples study “Why Christianity”. We will dive into the Bible to strengthen our faith and learn how we can each bless the world around us through God’s word.

Genesis ministry staff and Andrew Hodges developed the new Equipping Disciples program. Equipping Disciples is a 3 year, 6 course curriculum of foundational principles for becoming and making Disciples of Christ. The studies are filled with the insights of great theologians, history, and topics to strengthen our Christian faith.

Equipping Disciples classes will take place in February and October of each year during the Sunday Christian Education hour. All ages of the church will participate. Children and Youth will meet in their normal classrooms with age appropriate material on the same topics. Adults will meet in the Worship Room.

Course topics are:

  • Why Christianity?
  • The Christian World View
  • Why the Bible?
  • Why Prayer?
  • The Ten Commandments
  • Why Sacraments?

Join us! The whole family can have wonderful talks around the dinner table about what they have learned. There will also be take away questions each week.

We will have a weekly discussion on Facebook. Go to the Genesis UMC Member Group Facebook page and share insight and testimony of how you are carrying what you have learned into the world. If you are not a member of the Genesis UMC Member page, ask to join. We’ll be watching to approve your membership.

We look forward to seeing you this Sunday at 10:00 a.m. Let’s enjoy God’s word together!
