A group of senior adults came out in January to learn more about the Kairos Prison Ministry. Everyone walked away understanding how important and life-changing this ministry is in bringing the love of God to those who feel forgotten in our local prisons. On their website, the ministry’s mission statement is….
“The mission of Kairos Prison Ministry is to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ to impact the hearts and lives of incarcerated men, women and youth, as well as their families, to become loving and productive citizens of their communities.”
There are several ways to get involved – from working 6 Saturdays leading up to and during one of the bi-annual events in the prison, to baking cookies or preparing meals during one of the events. If anyone feels led to be a part of or learn more this ministry, go to the Kairos Ministry website: www.kairosprisonministry.org. You can also contact Derryl Walden, email: waldend@earthlink.net.
