Heavenly Father, thank you for gift of your Son. We are so grateful that you planned long ago for our redemption and reconciliation to You. Move in us, Holy Spirit, so that we may continue to grow spiritually and make disciples of Jesus Christ, transforming the lives of others. Remind us that everything we have comes from You, and we are to be good stewards of all you have given us.
We confess, Lord, that we do not always put You and others first. Forgive us, Lord, when we put selfish gain before your kingdom. Forgive us when we become wrapped up in the turmoil of the moment and lose sight of the eternal picture.
Help us, Lord, to love you with everything we have – our very being and the resources you have given us. Stir us continually to put others before ourselves, helping our neighbor and those in need, making your priorities our priorities and being good stewards of our time, our talents, and our finances by sharing them for your purposes. Psalm 34:10 tells us that those who seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing. We know that You are the giver of all good things and that you will lead us in the way everlasting.
We seek You, Lord, for wisdom in the decisions we make regarding Genesis and our financial commitments for the coming year. You are our provider, and we trust that you will guide us. Speak to us, Lord, as we prayerfully consider these matters. Turn our hearts to You and what you would have us to pledge on October 30. We acknowledge you as the source of all we have and all we are.
Your kingdom, Lord, endures forever.
