Father God, Creator and Sustainer of all things and our Great Physician, thank you for providing for us each day. Thank you for the bodies which you have given us in your image, and for each day of good health you have given us. Lord today we lift up to you those whose bodies are not healthy, those who have serious medical conditions. We recognize that each of us, or a loved one, could have such a condition during our life here on earth. Serious illnesses make us acutely aware that you are the giver of our days.
Lord, help us to provide the prayer support and environment where healing can happen. Enable us to be diligent in our prayers. We pray for healing, where it is your will. We pray that you lead each person to the medical care, medications and treatments that they need. We pray for strength as our bodies undergo treatments, for comfort where there is pain, and for patience while we wait.
Lord, be present and let your presence be known. Discipline our minds to focus on You. Remind us of the blessings in our lives. Increase our faith when we feel confused, frustrated, angry or despondent. Provide Spiritual healing – harmony of body, mind, spirit and relationships. We thank you that you are Sovereign, All Knowing, and possess the power to heal, to perform miracles.
We pray for our caregivers. Our family and friends, the doctors, nurses, technicians, therapists and all others that are committed to care. We thank you for their tireless service. Give them strength throughout their long days and nights as they care for us. Let them know we are grateful for them. Help our words be kind, as they are kind and compassionate with us.
Bless those researching cures. Enlighten their minds to understand more completely how the body works and how to fix its inadequacies. Give them insight into the mysteries of disease and how to fight illness and find cures.
All healing is of You, God. We thank you for providing earthly healing through your gifts. Where there is no earthly healing, we thank you for your promise of eternal life through Your Son Jesus Christ in heaven, where there will no longer be any mourning or crying or pain.
For all these things, we give You thanks.
In the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
Amen
