February Youth Mission: Ronald McDonald House Unleashed Youth are holding a collection for the Ronald McDonald House in Durham, NC during the month of February. Your participation is key to success! December 2022 Genesis UMC Missions News Kingswood We have all 25 of our Kingswood teachers adopted and they have been receiving notes and love from our 25 sponsor families. Patsy Saxon, our Kingswood birthday fairy, has been sending in a special treat to all of the staff on their birthday months. Adopt a Teacher
We need 24 families who are willing to adopt a teacher at Kingswood Elementary for the 2022-2023 school year. You will be asked to send an encouraging note and maybe some treats at least one time a month during the school year. You may email your teacher, send cards in the mail to the school or drop off gifts at the front desk during the school day. Methodist Build Home Dedication
The dedication of the 2021 Habitat for Humanity Methodist Build Home in Cary took place Monday, June 20, 2022. This is the day after Juneteenth. It’s fitting, as there has been an increase in the number of AMEZ, AMEC and AME churches involved. Genesis UMC is one of the proud sponsors of this build. Genesis Christmas Shop Impact
Hi Genesis families, I wanted to provide you with an update on the Christmas Shop that was held at Genesis in December of 2021. We partnered with our C4C school, Kingswood Elementary, to set up a Christmas Shop for low-income families of Kingswood students where the parents picked out free gifts for their children. Hope for Alexis Update
Thanks to all who have donated to help Alexis and his family as they wait for his bone marrow surgery! We mailed a check to Dorcas last week for this family for $12,550! I wanted to give everyone an update on where things are to date. This family needs to have a total of $39,000 (a year’s living expenses for this family of 6) saved before the hospital will schedule the surgery.
